In May 2024 two more jurisdictions joined the International Alliance of Industrial Zones: Pakistan and Tajikistan.
Negotiations with SEZ Dhabeji in Pakistan had been underway since the beginning of the year, and at the AIP Russia events at the Innoprom Central Asia exhibition in Tashkent, a relevant agreement was reached with Shafiq Soomro, CEO of the ZKB Group management company. The agreement on joining the Alliance was signed on 3 May 2024.
On 17 May in Kazan on the margins of the XV International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World" between AIP Russia and the Russian-Tajik Business Council signed an Agreement, according to which RTBC will represent the interests of Tajik companies in the International Alliance of Industrial Zones.
Earlier, AIP Russia, the Association of Logistics and Industrial Parks of Kazakhstan, SEZ "Mogilev" and the Republic of Belarus joined the initiative to create the Alliance.
The idea of creating an international alliance of industrial zones as an independent non-profit organisation was expressed by the participants of the InRussia conference in October 2023, and it was actively supported by the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Ministry of Economic Development of Mongolia and a number of market participants. Negotiations are currently underway with participants from the UAE, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and a number of other countries.
The purpose of the Alliance is to form a platform for comfortable international co-operation between industrial parks and SEZs and to create a seamless information space for investors from different countries.
The primary task of the Alliance is to prepare and issue the Review of Industrial Zones of the participating countries for joint promotion of the sites in the business circles of the world.
